Enhancement of Coronary Artery Blood Vessels Using Digital Subtraction Angiographic Technique
نویسنده
چکیده
Arteriosclerosis a widespread disease of the arteries. It is a kind of arteriosclerosis that causes coronary artery disease (CAD) in the form stenosis that is narrow downing of arteries. The X-ray angiography images suffer from background artefacts which obscure the visualization of the image to identify the stenosis. The artefacts must be eliminated to have an improved visualization of the blood vessels. The main aim of the proposed method is to eliminate the background artefacts present in the image subjected to investigation to identify the stenotic lesion in the pathway of the blood vessels by a technique named Temporal Mask Mode Digital Subtraction Angiography (TMDSA). The subtracted image shows the elimination of background structures, making the arteries highly visible. The performance is evaluated by estimating signal to noise ratio (SNR) and contrast to noise ratio (CNR). The feasibility of subtraction of coronary angiography images improves the interpretation of stenosis.

Digital subtraction angiography in angioplasty of total coronary artery occlusion.
This report describes a digital subtraction angiographic technique used to simultaneously display the proximal and distal segments of three totally occluded coronary arteries in two patients undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The advantage of this technique over routine cineangiography for PTCA of total occlusions is illustrated.
متن کاملValue and limitations of computer analysis of digital subtraction angiography in the assessment of coronary flow reserve STEVEN
Conventional coronary angiography has significant limitations in quantifying the severity and functional significance of coronary stenoses. However, coronary reactive hyperemia is an excellent physiologic indicator of coronary reserve. Digital subtraction angiography offers the potential to analyze coronary blood flow dynamics quantitatively. Therefore we assessed the accuracy of digital angiog...
متن کاملAssociation Between Left Anterior Descending Artery Length with Coronary Artery Dominance: An Angiographic Study
Introduction: Although left anterior descending (LAD) artery supplies a large portion of the myocardium, the amount of blood supply provided by LAD is depended on the length of the LAD. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association between coronary artery dominance and LAD anatomic types in patients with normal epicardial coronary arteries. Methods:...
متن کاملCross-sectional area and volume compliance of porcine left coronary arteries.
We have determined the cross-sectional area (CSA) compliance of the first several generations of pig coronary arteries and the volume compliance of the coronary arterial tree (vessels >0.5 mm in diameter) using a videodensitometric technique. The coronary arteries of four KCl-arrested maximally vasodilated pig hearts were perfused with iodine and 3% Cab-O-Sil. Because Cab-O-Sil occludes small a...
متن کاملQuantitative evaluation of regional myocardial blood flow by videodensitometric analysis of digital subtraction coronary arteriography in humans.
Videodensitometric analysis of digital subtraction coronary arteriography, a new approach for calculating contrast disappearance half-life (T1/2), was assessed in determining regional myocardial blood flow quantitatively. Forty-one patients with coronary artery disease and 12 with angiographically normal coronary arteries underwent digital subtraction coronary arteriography by manual injection ...
